Amy Sterner Nelson is the founder of The Riveter, a collective that elevates the work and voices of women through media, expert services, events, retail and space. Amy is one of the millions of American women who pivoted her career - launching a venture-backed company while pregnant with her third daughter after a decade as a litigator - and has shared her guidance with hundreds of thousands of women across the world. Amy was named one of 2019’s 100 Female Founders by Inc.
A graduate of Emory University and the NYU School of Law, Amy practiced corporate litigation with a focus on high-profile First Amendment matters for over a decade in New York City and Seattle. She also served on President Obama's National Finance Committee where she co-chaired Gen44, the under 40 fundraising arm of the campaign. Additionally, Amy previously worked with President Carter's The Carter Center in Ethiopia, Jamaica and the United States. Amy is also the mother of four daughters born in five years.
She is a contributor for Inc. and the host of iHeartRadio's What's Her Story with Sam and Amy. A sought after expert on women and entrepreneurship, Amy has raised over $30 million in venture capital and been hired by brands like Saks Fifth Avenue to launch global brands.
